Meet the Ladies...
![]() Ashley GaskewAshley Gaskew serves as the president of the chapter. She is a doctoral student in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursing a joint PhD in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis. In addition to being an active member of Zeta for 5 years, she helps out with #BlackGirlMagic groups in the local community. In her spare time she enjoys napping, shopping, and spending quality time with her loved ones. | ![]() Karla FosterKarla Foster serves as the secretary and treasurer for the chapter. She has been an social justice warrior for students of color at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for 7 years. February 2019 will mark her 14th year of dedication to the sisterhood. Over the years, she has held many positions in the chapter. She lives her life by the quote: "In Zeta and in life, it is truly a privilege to provide pearls of wisdom to those with open hearts to listen, and an honor to receive them in return." | ![]() Alesia AlexanderAlesia Alexander serves as the Z-HOPE Coordinator for the chapter. She is in the English department, studying literary studies at UW-Madison. She has been a member of Zeta since 2014, through Chi Xi (Grand Valley State University). In her free time she enjoys traveling around the world. |

She is in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at UW-Madison, studying the history of Black STEM professionals. She has been a member of Zeta since 2016, through Nu Iota Zeta. In her free time she likes to go to Tae-bo, Bodypump, dancing, and hiking. | ![]() Sheri Carter | ![]() Vanessa StatumVanessa Statum came to Madison from Chicago's south side as a single mother of two beautiful children. Her passion for Social Work is linked to her family history and lived experiences which have been a great asset to her clients. After receiving her master’s in social work from UW-Madison she began serving her community. Her resume is quit extensive. ![]() Dawn JacksonDawn Jackson is originally from Milwaukee and moved to Madison 18 years ago to purse a career in the Information technology field. She joined the sisterhood in 2000 and received her bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In her spare time she enjoys puzzles, listening to music, reading mystery books and feeding her soul. | ![]() Javona TownsendJavona Townsend is a proud native of Madison, WI. She came to Zeta in 2015 at UW-Whitewater, where she recently graduated( Dec. 2017) with her BS in social work. She currently works as an intern at the WI Department of Health Services, Bureau of Children’s Services as an Office Associate. In addition to work, she is an active participate in the Impact Bible Study and the UW-Madison Gospel Choir. In free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new things. | ![]() Chantel SimmonsChantell Simmons has been a member of Zeta Phi Beta since 2011 thru Upsilon Nu chapter at Iowa State University. After becoming a member she has continue to stay connected with her sorors and the community. She relocated to Madison in 2014 and works in the insurance industry. In her spare time she enjoys playing video games and spending time with her love ones. |
